Shepton Mallet
'Minimalist'
was the theme for the Fiat Motor Club with just one car displayed at the
Bristol Classic Car Show. Still, we managed to prove that quality is
better than quantity!
The
following report with photographs was sent in by John Wallin:
The
Royal Bath and West Showground at Shepton Mallet was the venue for the
Bristol Classic Car Show over the weekend 3rd and 4th
of February. The Club had a splendid stand provided by Fiat Auto. As space
was restricted, and on Fiats stand constructors advice, only one car was
exhibited, though we could in fact have squeezed another small car on the
stand, but, hey, one spot-lit car is very eye-catching. It was Chris
Hitching's beautiful white 500, and it caught a great deal of attention
from the public who voted it “Seriously Cute”, and from the judges who
gave it the runner up prize in the Best Classic Saloon class! Well done
Chris for a beautifully prepared car, and thanks for showing it.
Lots
of people visited the stand, and a lot of application to join forms were
taken away. Quite a lot of local members came too, it was nice to see you
folks and to talk to you. If you enjoyed your visit, why not think about
showing your car next year? After all, you’ve got a year to get it
ready. Thanks too to Brian Stignant who joined me in manning the
stand over the weekend.
