After
an enforced absence of just one-year, the Bromley Pageant of Motoring
returned to its roots in Norman Park, Bromley, on the 24th of June,
2001.
The
show was sponsored by Practical Classics magazine and supported by
Footman James Insurance and the show boasted over 3,500
exhibitors. Attractions included the Autoglym concours and the
Sainsbury's Strawberry Balloon, which was flying over the
showground.
The
weather was just glorious sunshine and very hot. It was possibly the
hottest day of the year. So much so that some called the day the
British Summer!
The live action arena featured displays throughout the day including the
dramatic 'Over the Top' fireball motorcycle stunt spectacular. There
were over 2,000 classic cars in the one-make parking areas and more than
300 trade and autojumble stands. With dedicated areas for military,
custom and pre-war cars together with classic commercial vehicles and
buses there was plenty to see.
The
Fiat Motor Club (GB) had one of the larger Club stands at the show with
15 cars on display. Below are some photographs taken at the show. Click
