In
2002 the London Classic Motor Show at Alexandra Palace, on the 9th and
10th of March, was organised by EMAP Automotive, the company behind the
best-selling Practical Classic, Classic Cars and Classic Car Weekly
magazines. They sponsored the show for many years, but this year they
took the plunge, run the event and made an excellent job of
it.
The
new organisers turned the event into the classic car show that London really deserves
with a somewhat different format to previous years. There was a
restoration workshop, with practical demonstrations by skilled
craftsmen, an art and automobilia gallery, a prestige auction and a rare
chance to view the heritage collections of some of the UK's modern
car makers.
The
vital aspects that traditionally made up the London Classic Motor Show
were also kept: the autojumble stalls, private cars for sale and of
course the club stands.
The
Fiat Motor Club (GB) had six cars on its stand all of which were of the
smaller variety emphasising Fiat's expertise in making exceptional small cars.
The cars on display ranged from a 1930s Topolino to a present day
Seicento.

The
full list of diplayed cars was 850 Saloon, Jumbla, 500, 126,
Seicento and the Topolino which won joint first prize as "Best Car
of the
Show".
