London Classic Motor Show

The Fiat Motor Club (GB) stand at the London Classic Motor Show - Alexandra PalaceIt is usually known as the "Enthusiasts show" and as usual, variety was the order of the day at The London Classic Motor Show at Alexandra Palace (17th & 18th of March, 2001). There was hundreds of gleaming concours and display vehicles ranging from the veteran, vintage, Edwardian, prestige to the more modern classic vehicles.  There was also over 200 stands where one could buy anything from general goods, autojumble, a complete classic car or a nut & bolt!

The 'theme' at the Fiat Motor Club stand was 'red'. Three cars were displayed: an 850 coupe, Ferrari 308  and a 600 and yes, they were ALL red!

RAI TV crew filming the 600The Fiat Motor Club stand attracted a lot of attention from all the visitors to the show but it also attracted special attention from an Italian TV crew who were filming at the show. RAI, the Italian TV station, have a special programme, broadcast in Italy on Saturday afternoons, which is all about the love of cars and particularly classic cars. They had heard of the classic car show at Alexandra Palace and decided it was worth a special feature on their programme.  The Fiat Motor Club stand obviously attracted them but special attention was given to the red 600 on the stand. It seems the show presenter used to have such a car so it brought back special memories for him. The TV crew spent some time filming around the 600 and chatting with all the members on the stand.  RAI TV crew filming the 600
