The
first ever Italian Car Day in Ireland took place on Saturday 11th March
2006. It was held at the GAA
Club in Ratoath Village, a few miles west of Dublin in Co Meath and
it celebrated the launch of the Irish Fiat Motorsport Club's 2006 race season.
The Club race three classes of Fiat: 1300cc Unos, 1400cc Puntos and 1800cc Punto
(HGT) Abarths.
The
event was supported by Fiat Ireland with new Puntos and Alfas on display
next to all the classic Fiats, Alfas, Lancias and Maserati. Cars and
spectators came from all over Ireland and there were even two 131s from
the UK.
The
show was a great success and it will hopefully become an annual event in
Ireland. Here's to next year! Let's hope it's a little warmer and a lot less
wet!
