Millions
long for immortality who do not know what to do with themselves on a rainy
Sunday afternoon. -- Susan Ertz
Sunday the 8th of June was
certainly a rainy day but instead of longing for immortality you should
have been at Gaydon where the Fiat Motor Club had its national
gathering for 2003. 'Rainy' is a gross understatement as on a couple of
occasions it seemed like it was time to build a modern version of
Noah's ark, this time with a special car park section to save all the
lovely Fiats in attendance.
Despite the appalling weather,
the event was one of the best attended Fiat Motor Club events for
a long time with over 200 people congregating at the Heritage
Motor Centre in their Fiats. There were about 150 cars with a
superb mix of old, new, rare, modified and standard cars.
Fiat
UK supported the event and graciously donated the prizes for the
winners of the concours competition and driving tests. Fiat's UK Public
Relations director, Mr Peter Newton, attended the event and presented
the prizes to the winners. Our sincere thanks to Fiat UK and Mr Newton
for their support.
