Even
though the Club's Weekend in the Cotswolds was held quite late in October
2003 (24th to 26th) the special order sunshine weather was delivered on
time.
Most
members arrived at the Stratton
House Hotel on Friday 24th October. The day was a 'free' day which
allowed members to enjoy it as they wished; most of them visiting the
local shops in Cirencester.
More
members arrived on Saturday morning in time for the Navigation Run in the
beautiful Cotswold countryside. The Navigation Run proved to be quite easy
for some members and none of the contestants managed to get
lost! No less than 4 participating teams managed to get full marks
but the single tie breaker question was sufficient to declare Simon and
Wendy Ryle as the clear winners. The fact that the sun was still shining
made the run even more enjoyable.
The
Navigation Run was followed by lunch at the Stratton
House Hotel. Saturday afternoon was 'free' time again allowing more
members to visit the shops in Cirencester or simply relax.
The
Saturday evening excellent dinner was followed by the price giving for the
day's Navigation Run and the Club's annual prize giving. Finally for
Saturday there was the disco/dance which proved very popular for the
younger and young-at-heart members.
With
the sun still shining gloriously on Sunday morning, there was the Club's concours d’Elegance
which was held in the in the grounds of Stratton
House Hotel.
