Sunday 28th March
2004
Even
though the weather this year was not as nice as the lovely sunshine we
had for the Bucks Autorun last year, the turnout was once again very
good.
Once
again we met at the Firecrest, a pub on the A413 near Wendover, for the
start of the run. To overcome the rather cool morning, we started off
with teas and coffees in the pub which opened early just for us.
The
very picturesque drive of just over 45 miles in the Bucks countryside
was a bit longer than last year. In fact Gavin had to make an emergency
change to the route just the day before as one of the roads meant to be
in our route was closed. Gavin also decided to make the run a bit
more difficult than last year's run so the final
mileage travelled by some of us was considerably longer than intended as
we had to double back on a few occasions in search of the clues!
Persistence paid off though and there was a tie at the end so the
tiebreaker questions were used before Tim and Hazel Milnes were declared
the winners.
A
lot of fun was had by all and we returned to the Firecrest
for a great lunch.
Our
thanks to Gavin Bushby for organising a superb
event.
